Kamal Nath, Nakul Nath joining BJP?  Digvijaya Singh reminds him of the favoritism of the “Nehru-Gandhi” dynasty.

New Delhi: Pushing back against swirling rumors suggesting a potential defection of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath to the BJP, their loyal Congress colleague Divijaya Singh staunchly reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Singh, addressing the media on Saturday, vehemently denied any credence to the speculation surrounding Kamal Nath’s purported visit to Delhi, asserting that he had personally spoken with the veteran Congress leader the previous night, confirming his presence in the familial bastion of Chhindwara.

“Kamal Nath is firmly rooted in Chhindwara… I had a thorough conversation with him last night, and I can confirm without a shadow of doubt that he is currently in Chhindwara,” Singh emphasized when probed about the alleged developments.

Drawing attention to Kamal Nath’s illustrious political journey, Singh underscored the indelible bond the veteran leader shares with the Nehru-Gandhi legacy, tracing back to his nascent days in politics. “He has been a steadfast ally of the Nehru-Gandhi family from the inception of his political career. Even during turbulent times, such as Indira Gandhi’s tumultuous encounter with the Janata Party-led government, Kamal Nath stood as an unwavering pillar of support. To entertain the notion of his departure from the ethos of Sonia Gandhi and Indira Gandhi’s esteemed lineage is simply preposterous,” Singh retorted.

Echoing Singh’s sentiments, Jitendra Singh, the AICC in-charge of Madhya Pradesh, echoed similar sentiments, expressing profound skepticism regarding the purported inclination of Kamal Nath to abandon the Congress party. “Considering the immeasurable contributions he has made to the party, spanning generations from the era of Sanjay Gandhi, and his unflinching loyalty to the Congress ideology, I find it exceedingly unlikely that he would entertain the prospect of leaving the party fold to join any other political entity,” Jitendra Singh opined, affirming his unwavering faith in Kamal Nath’s allegiance to the Congress cause.  read this content in Hindi

Following in the footsteps of the illustrious Gandhi family, Kamal Nath emerges as a towering figure among the esteemed veterans of the Congress party’s longstanding tradition. His deep-rooted ties with the Nehru-Gandhi lineage trace back to the very beginnings of his political journey.

The murmurs of speculation gained momentum when Nakul Nath boldly declared his intent earlier this month to contest the Chhindwara Lok Sabha elections, a move seemingly independent of the party’s official stance.

In a pivotal turn of events, on a Friday night, Kamal Nath reportedly orchestrated an exclusive gathering, convening with various influential figures from both local and state levels within the Congress fold.

Reiterating his unwavering dedication to the core tenets of the Congress party, on February 10th, Kamal Nath reaffirmed his allegiance to its ideology. In a poignant statement, he underscored the party’s unwavering commitment to truth, religion, and justice, emphasizing its inclusive ethos that embraces the diversity of religions, castes, regions, languages, and ideologies across the nation. Reflecting on the party’s rich legacy of struggle and service, particularly during the arduous freedom movement, Nath highlighted how Congress leaders passionately competed to serve the nation’s cause in its fight against tyranny. Post-independence, he asserted, the singular objective of the Congress has been steadfastly centered on the noble pursuit of nation-building.

Navigating through the turbulent waters of governance, Kamal Nath encountered a formidable challenge during his tenure as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh when his erstwhile colleague Jyotiraditya Scindia spearheaded a revolt among MLAs, leading to the collapse of his government. Subsequently, Scindia made the political leap to the BJP, currently assuming the mantle of Minister of Civil Aviation.

Since the watershed year of 2019, the Congress party has been grappling with a series of notable defections, witnessing the departure of prominent figures such as RPN Singh and Jitin Prasad. This year, the Maharashtra Congress further endured setbacks with the exits of Milind Deora and Ashok Chavan, signaling a tumultuous period within the party’s ranks.
