Priyanka Gandhi Hospitalised Due To Ill-Health; To Skip Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra In UP | Top News

Amidst a swirl of unforeseen events, Congress luminary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has regrettably found herself confined within the walls of a hospital ward, thereby relinquishing her intended participation in the party’s esteemed Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra scheduled for Friday.

In a statement imbued with both resignation and hope, she extends her heartfelt regards to her sibling, Rahul Gandhi, and her compatriots within the Congress fold, expressing her fervent desire to rendezvous with them once vitality returns to her ailing frame. The formidable march led by Rahul Gandhi is poised to venture into the labyrinthine heartland of Uttar Pradesh under the cloak of nightfall this very Friday.

Anticipation had ripened for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s convergence with her brother upon the Yatra’s ingress into Uttar Pradesh from the bosom of Bihar, a prospect now deferred due to the capricious hand of fate.

“I had awaited with bated breath the arrival of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. Alas, my aspirations have been thwarted by an unforeseen ailment that has consigned me to the confines of a hospital bed. Rest assured, I shall rendezvous with the Yatra as soon as the pall of illness lifts its sombre veil from my being. Until then, my fervent blessings accompany all the Yatris—my esteemed brother and the valiant comrades from Uttar Pradesh—who tirelessly prepare for the journey ahead, tracing the path to Chandauli-Banaras,” conveyed Vadra in a poignant missive scripted in the eloquent cadence of Hindi, shared via X.

The torchbearer of the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, spearheads the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on a transcontinental odyssey from the idyllic realms of Manipur to the bustling metropolis of Mumbai. Presently coursing through the verdant landscapes of Bihar, Gandhi, along with the venerable Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, convened a monumental assembly in Bihar’s Aurangabad, rousing the spirits of the masses.

Come dusk on Friday, the Yatra shall unfurl its banners upon the soil of Uttar Pradesh, the veritable crucible of Hindi sentiment and political fervour, where it shall traverse the tapestry of the state from the 16th to the 21st of February, and once again from the 24th to the 25th of the same month. The interceding days of February 22nd and 23rd shall serve as a respite, a fleeting hiatus in the relentless march of the Yatra.

Embarking on a pilgrimage spanning 6,700 kilometres through the heartlands of 15 states, the East-West odyssey from Manipur to Mumbai endeavours to amplify the clarion call of “nyay” (justice), while forging bonds with the common folk along its meandering path.
